SongWriter is a simple, yet powerful solution for songwriting on the go. Recording your ideas and writing your lyrics and chords has never been so convenient.

Im a professional songwriter from Germany and i was looking for an app like this. Im happy to see that its getting much better with every update so im not afraid of lil bugs (like the export function in this version.. get it fixed please or you are loosing one star hehe) or missing features. There is only 2 apps like this (for writing + recording) but the other one is double the price. 5 Stars from me because: - its working fine - all main features i need - enhancing updates - good and easy interface - look is ok - great price-performance ratio - no downsides so far (as mentioned: i dont count lack of some individual features as a downside cause i see that itsl growing + every writer could use other features)
I tried numerous songwriting apps and each had it pros cons, this app has been most consistent to update based on feedback and has become a good tool vice gimmick to write on the run. Ive since deleted others keep it up. Would like to see import audio (cut & paste!) and although i like audio record by section would also be nice to have option to record or import entire song.
$3.99 well spent. so helpful when writing music! Organized but keep improving :) the best musical app everrr
Just been using this for a few days but its been wonderful so far. I used to store all my songs and ideas in notes/voice memo apps, but this app consolidates everything into one clean interface. I really love it. Will be using it for all my songs. I agree with another reviewer that there should be an option to print from the app. But thats very minor. I love the app!
So easy to use. Makes writing and composing a breeze. As a Uke player appreciate the comprehensive chord library and ability to record and playback.

Some bad moments

It is a great idea and simple to use but needs improvement. I would like to see import and export audio & lyrics, a share feature among other things.
I havent begun writing yet because I want to check the privacy policy. I dont want anyone to be able to give away my creations without my knowledge. When I try and open the privacy policy though it tells me it doesnt exist. Interesting... I would really like to see it.
I used a more expensive competing app until it had erased 3 hours worth of work! I switched over and started using this app and have had no issues! Quick interface, start creating immediately. Plus it has a spellcheck. The latest update with being able to export lyrics and audio is a real nice addition. Great app for on the go songwriting!! Thank you for continuing to improve on it!
Its good for what its for. Some suggestions are to allow you to look at the lyrics while you record. It would help me alot.
Why would you have ratings for your own songs? It takes from the creative process. at least make a choice to not have a rating. Im forced to give all my songs a 5 star rating but most of my song titles are long so the stars overlap the title. Looks unpleasing to the eye.
Im speaking to the developer and he said he has great things coming for the upgrade. Im excited for what is to come, maybe if I could sing and it would type out what Im singing.
